I graduated with a distinction in Costume Design for Theatre & Film in May 2024.  In my previous life I was an International Marketing Director in the technology industry, leaving in 2006 to set up Muttugly - Dublin’s first full service dog care & grooming school, which I sold in 2018.

After volunteering to help with my kids school musical, I ended up designing and making (alone!) all 58 costumes (& helmets). I loved the experience so applied to the Costume Design course in Inchicore.

Although i’ve come to design later in life, I have been making or tinkering with design related projects for years - from art directing photo shoots & advertising campaigns at Doubleclick, to visual merchandising and window displays for Muttugly, designing prints for friends or sketching for fun.

As well as my costume related skills & knowledge, I have people, project and personal management skills garnered from my previous work experience which are invaluable - manage & inspire teams, create clear goals, identify & find the resources to achieve them, I take initiative, i’m reliable, responsible, dependable and work to tight deadlines.

My dissertation looked at the pillars of sustainability in the Irish Film Industry, the part costume departments play in this and explored the inhibitors to realisation. All the work I have created to date has been with materials donated, found or sourced from charity shops, recreate, or scraps left around the studio.

A little bit about me…
